
According to the preparation schedule for the CHODs Conference of Balkan countries, the first ATSWG meeting was held in Ankara from February 11 to 13, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Colonel Ali Sigirtmac, the lead ATSWG member from the host country. Representatives from Athens, Belgrade, Bucharest, Podgorica, Sarajevo, Skopje, Sofia, and Tirana attended the meeting in person, which took place at the Turkish General Staff Headquarters in Ankara.
The opening speech was delivered by Brigadier General Murat Kaya, Chief of the Counterintelligence Department. He welcomed all ATSWG members, wishing them productive discussions and success in their work.
The ATSWG meeting proceeded with its agenda in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. After fruitful discussions, the members agreed to continue negotiations on certain sections of the draft "Annual Intelligence Assessment on Asymmetric Threats in the Balkans 2024/2025" and to finalize the document at the second ATSWG meeting. The members reviewed and approved the minutes of the meeting, signing the document in Ankara on February 12, 2025. The second ATSWG meeting is scheduled to be held in Ankara, Türkiye, from April 8-10, 2025.
